Coincides with the PR CV-4
Leaving Bocairent by car along the CV-81 in the direction of Villena, turn off at the first roundabout and take the CV-794 towards Alcoi. At the top of the pass you will see a wide path on your right and an information panel about the PR-VC-4. Leave the car here and take the forestry track on the left descending until the Pouets de la Rambla. The route turns off to the right and follows the course of the Vinalopó river. You will soon see the ruins of the Vinalopó castle on your left and a bit further on you will pass by the Brulls, where the vegetation becomes thicker. Even though the actual source of the river begins about 6 km further up in the Pla de Bodí plain, the spring commonly known as the “source of the Vinalopó river or the Coveta fountain” is to be found to the left of the path, providing an ideal place to stop and freshen up.
A few metres further on, cross the river keeping to the right hand side, until you come to the chimney of the Dalt mill. Since the 15th century there have been references to textile work here and later in the 18th century to a flour mill. From 1781 to 1943 it was a paper factory before returning to textile fleecing in the second half of the 20th century. Adjacent to it you will find the Baix mill or the Blanes factory. Here you can continue along a pedestrian walkway, which will lead us a few metres further down the river to the “Toll Blau”. The return journey can be made along the forestry track passing by the Mas de l’Altet and between the lovely farmstead and chapel of Guilella la Nova and Guilella la Vella.
